I would love to know more about Kathleen, and how truly similar to our staring killer she is. I don’t know how much of that is that it fit with the story and how much of that was just the train wreck quality of the story you just cannot help but continue to read and watch the carnage unfold.Īs with all my favorite thrillers, it left many unanswered questions to the imagination. I have read several reviews complaining about repetition, but I have to say that didn’t bother me in the slightest during the read. I can’t honestly say I liked it due to the brutal and disturbing nature, but it was most certainly very engrossing. The movie is focused on Zuri, a little girl, about 6 or 7, attempting to do her own hair. If you haven’t seen it, Hair Love is a short film (as well as a children’s book) that celebrates Black natural hair and hairstyles through the story of a young dad doing his daughter’s hair for the first time. I saw the pitch for it on Twitter, thought the idea was cute, threw some money at it, and kept it moving, not really thinking about it until it was released late last year. I first heard about Hair Love, the Oscar-Nominated animated short, in 2017, when it was a Kickstarter campaign from director Matthew Cherry.
